Hi , I am Kanika Dawalia.I am an engineer turned product designer with 3 years of work experience as a software developer and currently pursuing Masters in Design in the field of Universal Design from the National Institute of Design, Bangalore.

 

My aim is to create and leave a legacy of products that come as a ray of hope to my users. I am very passionate about helping others and making an impact. It gives me the motivation that I am connected to my solutions on a personal level. I value honesty, hard work, and being kind to others.

My design philosophy is to tackle problems that are not problems hidden in plain sight but rather problems that are very well evident but still remain unnoticed and ignored. Through this deep connection to my problem statements, I have developed a strong process of user-centered thinking along with the required skillset and I continue to improve myself with all the insights and feedback I get with each project. I try to implement Universal Design principles in my designs and work towards keeping my designs gender-neutral.

I also have a nudging interest in the field of biology and psychology and I enjoy watching and reading crime thrillers. I like to explore different mediums and make art as a hobby. I want to own a grand piano in my house someday and be really good at it.
